PURPOSES OF THE DANUBE-SWABIAN FOUNDATION
To foster, support and encourage the preservation of the customs, traditions, literature, culture and history of the Danube-Swabian people (Germanic people of Southeastern Europe).
To encourage the pursuit of studies in the German language, in the history, culture, literature, music and folklore of the Danube-Swabian people.
To provide food, shelter, clothing and other assistance to the Danube-Swabian people in dire need of help because of war, Acts of God, or other disaster.
To foster and encourage the participation of the Danube-Swabian youth in amateur athletic competition at the national and international level.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Danube-Swabian Foundation was founded by the Danube-Swabian Association in 1982 to provide financial support for the educational activities of all associated organizations and other educational institutions.
The Danube-Swabian Foundation is a non profit organization which in the past has awarded scholarships for excellent academic achievement and for selected studies consistent with the purposes of the Foundation.
The Officers and Directors of the Danube-Swabian Foundation are elected and serve on a voluntary basis in supporting literary research and publishing activities of qualified persons furthering the purposes of the Foundation.
The Danube-Swabian Foundation solicits donations and promotes fund raisers for its activities as well as maintains a center for collection and disbursement of funds and material support for the distribution of aid to the Danube-Swabian people who are in dire need of help.
The Danube-Swabian Foundation is active from coast to coast in providing financial and moral support for our Danube-Swabian youth to enable them to participate in national and international amateur athletic competition.
The Danube-Swabian Foundation’s long-range goal is to establish and maintain a national Danube-Swabian Cultural Center in the United States.
SUMMARY
The Danube-Swabian Foundation is incorporated in the State of Wisconsin and organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational and scientific purposes under Section 501 (a)(3) of the Internal Revenue code.
The Foundation is governed by the Board of Directors which includes activity chairmen dedicated to specific tasks. Thanks to the generous donations being received from various sources, the Danube-Swabian Foundation has had an outstanding record of financial support and assistance of German language schools, Dance groups, Sports Tournaments, Travel groups, Youth and Children groups.
